Kelowna Squadron Training in Boating Safety, Seamanship & Marine Navigation
Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons A nationwide organization emphasizing boating safety, power and sail navigation and offering accredited boating courses. Since 1938, the volunteer trainers of Canada's largest association of boating enthusiasts have offered safe boating courses across Canada. Successful completion of the qualifying examinations for Boat Pro and the Boating Course lead to particular membership categories. Each category ensures special membership benefits. The Kelowna Squadron - One of over 200 Squadrons across Canada, the Kelowna Squadron received its charter in 1963. It continues to be a very active organization with over 200 members locally. Several courses are offered each year, and are taught by volunteer instructors, many of whom have extensive experience in coastal navigation and offshore cruising. May 2008 May 10 (Sat) - Kelowna Squadron Change of Watch Banquet at KYC. Tickets available at the KYC Office. Cocktails at 6:00 Diner at 7:00 June 2008 June 21 (Sat) - Kelowna Squadron members are invited to join the Yacht Club in the annual "Boat for Hope" event to help raise money for the Variety Club children's charities.
